Last August 16 – 19 and 20, Aklan Valley High School held an event named Vim, Vigor, and Victory. It was a significant event for AVHS students, alumnus/alumnae, and to other people who want to watch the said event. There are different sports being played such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, etc. but the most awaited part is the Cheerdance Competition. I was one of the participants in that competition and it was a great yet memorable experience. I felt different emotions the day of the competition. Our uniform was not yet finished! Some dancers do not have any uniform that made us cry in tears. Who would like to compete in the competition with no uniform? No one, right? So we blamed the tailors that they didn’t finish our uniforms the day before the deadline. Although some do not have uniforms, we still performed. We gave our very best to prove to the judges and the people around that we can still compete and we’re not easily giving up.

Day 2 of the intramurals was an exciting one. I didn’t join sports because I’m not the sporty kind of person. Yet, I was one of the supportive batchmate cheering for the players. Though sometimes we got defeated by other batch, we still develop our sportsmanship towards them. We should learn how to accept defeat because not all the time we will win. We, as individuals, have different potentials given by God to develop so we have to know what those potentials are in order to showcase our skills in different talents.
Awarding. Everyone was really restless and excited for the results. Many got sad and happy. But the most important thing is, we should obtain sportsmanship in order for peace and unity inside the campus. Defeat may feel us discouragement and failure but hey, it teaches us the best lessons after all.
